Remembering the start of WWII.

70 years ago tomorrow - WWII broke out when Germany attacked Poland - Sept 1st 1939. Thank you to all you guys n girls who fight for our country & freedom past, present & future.

Shame 'the war to end all wars' WWI wasn't just that.

Summer is over - Finally

The 10 day forecast finally shows more 9x degree temps than 1xx degree temps. Yayyy - Summer is finally over. To celebrate I will be holding a BBQ on Labor Day out in my 9x degree back yard.

Retarded earth mover move

I can understand the need to move heavy equipment at times, but do they really need to take up 3 lanes (there's also a pickup truck with them in the right lane) in the middle of rush hour? Only lane 4 lanes of traffic could use to get by was the middle lane and they were going 50mph.

Armed Nutjobs at Presidential Rally yesterday

I'm all for gun rights, I own several myself. But when some dumbass shows up at a presidential rally carrying an AR-15 style assault rifle, you gotta think that's taking things a little to far.

http://phoenix.bizjournals.com/phoenix/stories/2009/08/17/daily20.html?surround=lfn

Gotta imagine those people carrying openly had Secret Services snipers trained on them at all times. I think these people however are going to do more harm for gun ownership than good and should probably have been escorted kindly away from the scene. Then maybe accidentally fall down a few flights of stairs before being released by the Police.

Great way to honor a real hero - RIP Harry

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-britain-funeral7-2009aug07,0,995903.story

Harry Patch, last British survivor of the WW1 Trench War honored at his funeral today. I was lucky enough to have traveled to Belgium this summer and felt a huge connection to the town Ypres, which is just a few miles away from Paschendale where so many 10's of thousands of British troops died in WW1. Glad the last surviving soldier was honored as the true hero that he was. RIP Harry Patch and all our other troops who fought and died during or after 'The Great War'. So comes the end of an Era in which there are people among us who fought during WW1, this makes me want to learn even more about it.

Seems that posting on Facebook that you don't have it yet gets hits from your friends who have spare invites. I now have Google Voice setup on 623-252-4ROG (623-252-4764). First impressions are this could be very useful.

National Stop at Red Light Week! WTF!

So - while driving back from Lunch we see an electronic banner sign advertising 'National Stop at Red Light Week' Aug 2nd - 8th. http://www.stopredlightrunning.com/

And here's me thinking we always gotta stop at red lights regardless of the week. Well screw that, next week I'm not stopping for Red.

Speaking about this to my Colleague Marky he suggests next week we have 'Don't Murder Anyone' week, I think we should start the campaign now.

Hot Hot Hot

116? yesterday and 11am it's already 105, looks like we're in for another hot one today. How on earth did people survive this before AC? A little surprised Phoenix became so large with such insane temperatures.
